At Cocoon House we empower young people, families, and communities in Snohomish County to break the cycle of homelessness through outreach, housing, and prevention.
As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in leading the organization's fundraising and development initiatives to ensure the success and sustainability of our mission.
The Director of Development and Community Engagement manages a team towards the successful execution of raising $2M in private contributions.
In close partnership with the leadership team, you will oversee all aspects of fundraising including stewardship, corporate giving, private foundations, special events, marketing, and all external communications.

Director of Development and Community Engagement's Duties & Responsibilities Full-Time On-site Salary:
$70,000 - $80,000 DOE Develop and implement all agency strategies for fundraising, including but not limited to, annual fund, special events, donor stewardship, social media, marketing campaigns, branding, and community relations.
Lead, manage, and develop Community Engagement team Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential donors Oversight of Virtuous (donor management system) to ensure accurate supporter information is collected and assist with pulling reports.
Identify successes in meeting revenue goals and where the gaps are to create strategies to address them.
Represent Cocoon House in a positive manner in both public and private venues and events.
Communicate effectively through presentations, e-mail blasts, meeting with donors, community special appeal letters, and leading tours.
Attend board meetings while ensuring support the development of marketing and social media plans.

Minimum of three years' experience managing fundraising and communications for non-profit organizations with annual budgets of at least $1 million.
Clear a background check with DCYF A valid Washington State Driver's license and proof of personal insurance.
Demonstrated success in cultivating and growing a network of individual, corporate, government and foundation donors.
Sound understanding of annual fund management and direct mail, major gift solicitation and cultivation, grant-writing, event planning, and local funding trends.
Must be computer savvy and have a working knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook etc.
and ability to learn computer programs quickly.
Excellent public speaking skills required with ability to communicate information and concepts to diverse social, economic and cultural communities.
Highly organized and extremely detail-oriented.
Persuasive, interpersonal skills in all forms of personal, verbal and written communication.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in related field to role.
Familiar with Snohomish County Knowledge of using Virtuous Donor Software Physical:
Ability to effectively communicate with all internal and external clients Be able to hear voices and alarms.
Ability to read and comprehend a variety of materials Ability to operate phone, computer, and record information for files and logs Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds Must have ability to run up and down indoor and outdoor stairwells in case of youth emergency.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
